Accessibility Statement
WCAG 2.1 Level AA Compliance Commitment
Last Updated: June 2026
1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
90 AI Engineering is committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that the web should be universally usable and are actively working to meet and maintain compliance with internationally recognized accessibility standards.
We design and maintain our website with the goal of conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make digital content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
2. Applicable Accessibility Standards
Our website is developed to comply with or align with the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA (W3C): International standard for web accessibility, covering perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (USA): Federal standard requiring electronic and information technology to be accessible to people with disabilities
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III (USA): Requiring places of public accommodation, including websites, to be accessible to individuals with disabilities
- EN 301 549 (European Union): European harmonized standard for ICT accessibility in public procurement
- European Accessibility Act (EAA) — Directive 2019/882: EU legislation expanding accessibility requirements to private sector digital services
3. Accessibility Features of This Website
3.1 Perceivable Content
- Text Alternatives: All meaningful images include descriptive
alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes (alt="") to be ignored by screen readers
- Color Contrast: Text elements meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 minimum contrast ratios: 4.5:1 for normal-weight text and 3:1 for large text (18pt or 14pt bold)
- No Color-Only Information: We do not convey information through color alone; supplementary text labels and visual indicators accompany all color-coded elements
- Responsive Design: Content reflows appropriately at 320px viewport width and can be magnified up to 400% without loss of content or functionality
- Text Resizing: Text can be resized through standard browser settings without breaking page layout
- Audio and Video: Multimedia content is accompanied by captions and/or transcripts. No audio or video content auto-plays
3.2 Operable Interface
- Full Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements — including menus, buttons, forms, and links — are accessible and operable using only a keyboard
- Focus Indicators: A clearly visible focus indicator (outline or highlight) is present on all focusable elements for keyboard-only users
- Skip Navigation Link: A "Skip to Main Content" link is available at the top of every page to help keyboard and screen reader users bypass repetitive navigation
- No Keyboard Traps: Keyboard focus is never trapped within any element or component; users can always navigate freely
- No Timing Requirements: No time limits are imposed on user interactions or page sessions
- No Flashing Content: Our website does not contain any content that flashes more than 3 times per second, preventing seizure risks
- Touch Targets: Interactive elements have a minimum touch target size of 44×44 CSS pixels on mobile devices
3.3 Understandable Content
- Language Declaration: The primary language of the page is declared in the HTML
lang attribute. Our website is available in English (lang="en") and Spanish (lang="es"), with language changes declared accordingly
- Consistent Navigation: Navigation menus, site structure, and interactive patterns are consistent across all pages
- Labeled Form Inputs: All form fields have descriptive, properly associated
<label> elements
- Error Identification: Form errors are identified in text, clearly describe what went wrong, and provide guidance on how to fix the issue
- Clear Instructions: Instructions for complex interactions and forms are provided before the interaction begins
- Readable Language: We strive to write in plain, clear language accessible to a broad audience
3.4 Robust Technical Implementation
- Semantic HTML: We use proper semantic HTML5 elements (e.g.,
<nav>, <main>, <section>, <article>, <header>, <footer>) to convey document structure and meaning to assistive technologies
- ARIA Attributes: ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) labels, roles, and properties are used where necessary to supplement semantic HTML for interactive components
- Decorative Elements: Visual decorations are hidden from assistive technologies using
aria-hidden="true"
- Cross-Browser Compatibility: The website is tested and compatible with modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
4. Keyboard Navigation Reference
This website is fully navigable using only a keyboard:
- Tab: Move forward through interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields)
- Shift + Tab: Move backward through interactive elements
- Enter: Activate a link or button; submit a form
- Spacebar: Activate buttons; scroll one page down
- Arrow Keys: Navigate within dropdowns, menus, sliders, and radio groups
- Escape: Close open modals, dropdowns, and dialog boxes
- Home / End: Navigate to the beginning or end of a list or page
5. Screen Reader Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with leading screen reader software:
- NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) — Windows (free, open source)
- JAWS (Job Access With Speech) — Windows (industry standard)
- VoiceOver — macOS and iOS (built-in)
- TalkBack — Android (built-in)
- Narrator — Windows (built-in)
We conduct screen reader testing during development and with each major update to verify compatibility.
6. Built-In Accessibility Tools in Browsers and Devices
You can further customize your browsing experience using your browser and operating system's built-in accessibility tools:
- Browser Zoom: Press Ctrl/Cmd + + to increase zoom; - to decrease; 0 to reset to default
- Reader Mode: Available in Firefox and Safari to strip navigation and simplify page layout for reading
- High Contrast Mode: Windows: Settings → Ease of Access → High Contrast. Our website respects the
prefers-contrast CSS media query
- Dark Mode: Our website respects the
prefers-color-scheme: dark media query if supported by your operating system
- Reduced Motion: We respect the
prefers-reduced-motion CSS media query; animations are minimized for users who have indicated a preference for reduced motion
- iOS VoiceOver: Settings → Accessibility → VoiceOver
- Android TalkBack: Settings → Accessibility → TalkBack
- Windows Magnifier: Settings → Ease of Access → Magnifier
- macOS Zoom: System Preferences → Accessibility → Zoom
7. Known Limitations and Areas of Improvement
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we are aware of the following current limitations and are actively working to address them:
- Third-Party Embeds: Some third-party integrations (e.g., embedded videos, external calendar widgets, social media feeds) may not fully meet WCAG standards. We notify our vendors of accessibility requirements and seek updates
- Legacy PDF Documents: Older downloadable documents may not be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility. We are converting these to accessible HTML or properly tagged PDF/UA format on an ongoing basis
- Complex Interactive Components: Some interactive elements, such as dynamic carousels or custom dropdowns, are being progressively updated to improve ARIA compliance and keyboard interaction patterns
We are committed to continuous improvement and prioritize accessibility fixes in our development cycles.
8. Accessibility Audit and Testing Process
Our accessibility quality assurance process includes:
- Automated Testing: Regular automated scans using tools such as axe, WAVE, and Lighthouse to detect common accessibility issues
- Manual Testing: Periodic manual reviews by our development team using keyboard-only navigation and screen reader software
- User Feedback: We actively incorporate accessibility feedback from users with disabilities to improve our website
- Development Standards: Accessibility requirements are built into our development workflow as part of every feature release
9. Requesting Accessible Formats and Alternatives
If you encounter content that is not accessible to you, or if you require information in an alternative format, we are happy to assist:
- Accessible Document Formats: We can provide documents in large print, plain text, HTML, or accessible PDF (PDF/UA)
